Here is a lovely, vintage, medium fruit wood colored wooden flatware storage chest
.
The box  measures 14 3/4" wide, 11 1/8" deep, and 3 1/8" high, with a brass handle on the front to lift the lid.
The underside of the box is masonite board.  The lining is dark brown silver cloth, and there are 12 knife slots in the lid, 10 divided sections in the main case. The interior cloth is in very good.
The wood finish has scratches scuffs, some nicks and small gouges, most likely from being moved here and there over the years.
No odors, mildew.
Chest is very sturdy.
